A couple weeks back I got to head back to my hometown to photograph Alex and Johnny for their University of Notre Dame wedding. I could go on and on about how beautiful the campus is and how amazing Alex and Johnny are, but we’ll let the photos speak for themselves. We started the day off with the wedding ceremony. The ceremony for a Notre Dame wedding is held in the Basilica, which is absolutely breathtaking.
After the ceremony, we headed out to the beautiful ground of the campus. I brought some off-camera lighting to make sure that I could expose both the golden dome and the bride and groom and bridal party evenly. I am so happy with how these photos turned out!
After photographing in front of the dome, we went inside the stadium! We also got to take some photos in the locker room. The perks of being a former athlete aren’t too shabby! Next we took a photo at the reflecting pool!
After portraits, we headed to the reception at the Morris Inn. During the speeches, there were some laughs and there were some tears. After dinner, the dancing started. Things got a little wild, which is why I love photographing the dance floor so much. Enjoy the party photos!
At the end of the night, we did a sparkler send off. Sparkler send offs are usually my favorite photos of a wedding day. They look super cool and this is a perfect way to end the night with family and friends!
Be sure to take a look at some more of my favorite weddings from around the world here!
