An intimate wedding at Summerset Winery

This weekend I was able to photograph a wedding for the first time since Covid began. This was a Summerset Winery wedding in Indianola, an absolutely beautiful venue that has photogenic vineyards surrounding the property. We took advantage of these vineyards for Gabby and Otto’s first look and portraits! After almost four months of not photographing a wedding, I was SO excited to spend my afternoon with Gabby and Otto celebrating.

These two decided to have a small 10 person wedding this year and will be doing a large celebration with all of their friends and family next year. Spoiler alert, Gabby’s MOH Lisa organized an amazing surprise by having a ton of family and friends on a zoom call to watch Gabby and Otto tie the knot. Hearing cheers from the iPad as soon as they were announced husband and wife was one of the most fun things I’ve experienced as a wedding photographer.

The reception

After the ceremony, Gabby and Otto had their first dance which was so beautiful and sweet. From there, dinner was had and best man and maid of honor speeches were made. The best man was unable to travel, so he absolutely crushed his speech from zoom, gotta love technology! Right before I headed out, we took a few photos in their new Raygun t-shirts that read “for better or worse, pandemic or not.” I can’t compliment Gabby and Otto’s ability to roll with the punches over the last few months enough. Cheers you two and thank you so much for having me be a part of your intimate Summerset Winery wedding, one of my favorite wedding venues in Iowa! You’ve been an absolute pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to celebrate with you further next year.
