Absolutely loved the colors from Laurel and Jay’s St. Louis engagement session! We started the session in Forest Park. Laurel and Jay popped champagne to celebrate their engagement. This made for fun and unique engagement photos! We also took a few photos with their beautiful dog who has the best eyes (see below).
Afterwards, we headed to the St. Louis Museum of Art. The Museum had a ton of great areas for photos. It also helped that we timed the sunset which made everything pop even more! It’s always fun to photograph during golden hour. A time that many people don’t shoot, which I happen to love, is blue hour. Blue hour is the first bit of time after sunset where all of the light gets really moody. This makes for beautiful photos with a completely different tone than golden hour photos! These blue hour photos by the water made for stunning engagement portraits with really vibrant tones. Laurel and Jay were naturals behind the camera which always makes engagement sessions fun!
At the end of the session, we headed to St. Louis’ iconic Gateway Arch for a night portrait. Night portraits with unique lighting setups are always fun for me. It was great to match the lighting of the arch for Laurel and Jay, which resulted in a fun portrait which you can see below!
