What I love about photographing weddings at Toast:
Toast is a beautiful venue that has a ton of options for photos. It has very large spaces for both your ceremony and reception, so you should have no guest capacity issues between the two. Located in the Prairie Trail District, Toast is walkable from multiple hotels, making weekend logistics easy for your guests. The staff is top notch and will help to make sure you have the smoothest of days. I am personally obsessed with their third floor wall as a photo spot, the light hits the wall beautifully for the majority of the day. If you have me as your photographer at Toast, I can assure you we’ll spend at least a few minutes on that beautiful wall!

locations at Toast
The Patio
The Patio at Toast is one of the most iconic wedding venue spots in Iowa. The black structure and neutral finishes throughout make this space perfect for a clean, classic backdrop. The sunsets from this vantage point are breathtaking, and using the patio space for cocktail hour is an absolute must!
The Third Floor Wall
Though most people will tell you that the patio is their favorite part of Toast, my favorite spot to photograph at the venue is the third floor wall in the reception area. This wall is visually interesting yet subtle, creating an awesome look for couple and individual portraits..
The Second Floor / Bridal Suite
The second floor of Toast is where you will most likely hold your ceremony. It’s also where the bridal suite is located. The bridal suite at Toast is the nicest bridal suite in Des Moines, I don’t know if another venue really comes close to the aesthetics of this space. The second floor has nice light walls that are perfect for a private first look or vow reading as well as a hallway that gets great light throughout the day for yet another photo location.
