In September, I had the opportunity to capture Rae and Brandon’s wedding photos at Celebration Farm. After meeting up for their Iowa City engagement photos back in May, I was thrilled to be a part of their big day. Although I’m a Des Moines based photographer, I am always excited to make a day trip for an Iowa City wedding or engagement session. Plus, with Rae and Brandon being such naturals in front of the camera, I knew their wedding day was going to be a blast. The ceremony at Terry Trueblood set the tone for the day with beautiful weather and great lighting. The venue also served as the perfect backdrop for waterside photos. After the ceremony, we headed to the Timber Frame Barn, part of the Celebration Farm Venues. The reception area was incredible, bursting with rustic charm inside and out. The upscale red barn sits at the edge of the beautiful wooded acreage, offering fantastic views from the wrap around deck. The inside of the barn boasts locally sourced lumber and salvaged beam rafters. With unique interior architecture, guests could enjoy the party from the upstairs loft or from the dance floor. Overall, this venue brought an elevated barn experience that was the perfect touch for Rae and Brandon’s picture-perfect day.
