Photographing Christy and Ben’s wedding at the Avanti Mansion was a real treat! I was put to the test with the weather as a Buffalo wedding photographer. It was cold, snowy and windy. Christy, Ben and their bridal party were all troopers throughout the day which allowed for us to take beautiful wedding photos.
We started the morning taking getting ready photos at the house. The window light made beautiful photos possible. After the getting ready photos, we headed to the Avanti Mansion. Here, we had the ceremony. Ben seeing Christy walk down the spiral staircase was so incredible, cue the tears!
After the ceremony, we headed to a wooded area that I scouted the day before. The snow, along with the pine trees, made the perfect backdrop for this winter wedding. Christy and Ben had a large bridal party which made the bridal party photos look epic! After the woods, we headed to downtown Buffalo. The Buffalo Art Museum made a great backdrop. It had a beautiful marble facade and gorgeous pillars. It was getting dark, so I took out some off camera lighting to help create some dramatic photos.
I also took a composite photo of the bridal party. Composite photos are a blast. Composites are dramatic images that are a series of 10-20 photos that are put together in post-processing. They create a dramatic lighting effect that can’t be achieved otherwise! Let me know what you think of this image in the comments below!
We left the Art Museum and then headed to the Avanti Mansion. Tears and laughter were abundant during the speeches. After the speeches and dinner, the dance floor was open. Christy and Ben’s dance floor was so much fun. I stayed later than planned because of how fun everyone was!
